Hmmm...

Do you ever hear an Internet or technology term, and have no idea what it means? I would suggest checking out Webopedia! It is a free online dictionary for words, phrases and abbreviations that are related to computer and Internet technology. Check out the About page to learn what goes into Webopedia.

Here is an example:

LCD: Short for liquid crystal display, a type of display used in digital watches and many portable computers. LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.

Considering how fast technology changes and how many acronyms are used in the field. I surf over to the site a lot! It is easy to use, and full of great information.

Enjoy!
